More memory makes the Mac run as hell...

Since I often work with virtual machines on my MacBook and always ran out of memory, I decided to give myself a present and got 8 GB of memory for roughly 50 EUR.

Exchanging the memory is no hassle at all: simply unscrew the bottom plate of the Mac, put it away, snap out the old modules, plug  and snap in the new ones, put back the bottom plate. Takes about 3-4 minutes. Great construction.

Impression: no waiting times any more, incredibly faster response to almost anything, virtual machines run like a charme. So overall: it was definitely worth the money.
